How To Prepare Your
Recyclable Materials
 
WHEN:
All rubbish for the Hopewell Township will be collected on Fridays  Please make sure it is at the curb by 6:00 a.m. for collection
 
WHAT:
There will be TWO Recycling Schedules for Hopewell Township:
No plastic bags can be used.
Glass, alumunum and bi-metal cans, tin cans and plastic bottles.
 
WHERE:
Place container at curbside beside your regular trash.

BI-METAL AND STEEL CANS
-FOOD AND JUICE CANS-
1. Rinse.
2. Ends may be removed and placed in cans.
3. Cans should be flattend to save space.
4. Remove as much label as possible.
5. No paint cans.
6. Place in container.
PLASTIC - MILK,WATER,
JUICE AND SODA BOTTLES
 
PETE containers, indicated by a recycling symbol with the enclosed number one, (on bottom of container). Includes soda bottles, salad dressing bottles, etc.  HDPE containers indicated by recycling symbol with an enclosed number two. Includes one gallon plastic milke and detergent bottles.
 
1. rinse
2. Remove all lids and rings (including plastic caps).
3. remove paper labels.
4. Flatten if desired, to save space.
5. Place in container.
6. No Oil or Chemical Containers.
ALUMINUM - BEVERAGE, BEER & SODA CANS
1. Rinse and crush to save space. (Aerosol and paint cans are not recyclable.)
2. Place in container.

GARBAGE / REFUSE
PREPARATION
   
1. Carpet must be cut to 4ft. lengths and bundled.
2. Building materials/car parts NOT accepted with regular trash pick-up.
3. Freon needs to be removed - proof of removal must be attached (sticker and invoice).
4. Paint must be dried (lids off).
5. Cans/Trash Bags should not exceed 40 lbs.
Recycling Holiday Service:
If your pick-up is on or after a holiday, pick-up
will be one day later for the remainder of the week
The Holidays affected are:
New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

GLASS - ALL COLORS
1. Rinse-remove as much label as possible.
2. Remove all metal lids and rings.
3. No window glass, light bulbs,pyrex or ceramics.
4. Place in container - (do not break).
