View depository winter hours for 2011 / 2012. The Hopewell Township Sohn Road Depository will resume their Spring schedule beginning Monday, April 2, 2012. The depository will be open Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.

PLEASE NOTE: The standard fee for use of the township depository for disposal of acceptable yard waste is amended as follows:

Accepable yard waste is that which is deemed suitable for compost by the depository guard on duty.

Waste Managements - "The Bagster"
  Waste Management now offers the "Bagster - Dumpster in a Bag".  This new bag can hold up to 3300 lbs. of waste and debris.  Wonderful for renovations and remodeling, landscaping, roofing and more.
 
  Purchase the bag for $30.00 from the Township municipal building or go online at www.thebagster.com or call 1-877-789-2247 to schedule and pay for pickup at your convenience.

NEW PROCEDURES
Newspapers will no longer be collected by Hopewell Township. Newsprint may be deposited in appropriate containers at the following locations:
  Hopewell Elementary School, Kane Road
  Margaret Ross Elementary School, Maratta Road
Newsprint may also be placed curbside during scheduled garbage pickup day.
   
This Fall, residents have the option of raking their leaves to the curb where the Road Department will pick them up with a leaf vac.  PLEASE do not include any other yard waste such as branches, grass clippings or animal manure.

For those who prefer to bag their leaves, this method of pick up will remain an option.  Biodegradable bags are available at the municipal building, five bags for $3.00.
 
Hopewell Township garbage collection are Mondays. Please, place your garbage at your curb anytime after 6:00 pm on Sunday. If the garbage collection day falls on a holiday then the garbage collection will be the next day.
Residents are not permitted to place any yard waste or construction materials in their normal garbage pick-up. Yard waste and construction materials are to be taken to the Hopewell Townships's depository.

Rules & Regulations

  Open to Hopewell Township residents only. You must show proper identification.
  Speed limit on premises is 5mph.  Please adhere to all posted signs.
  NO PAINT, TIRES, BATTERIES OR FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS.
  Refrigerators & air conditioners will be accepted only if the Freon has been removed & document provided.
  Compost:  Grass, shrubs, bushes and tree branches up to 4 inches in diameter are accepted free of charge.
  No commercial vehicles permitted.
  PLASTIC BAGS ARE NOT PERMITTED and must be emptied and taken from the premises.
  The Township offers compost free of charge, as available.  You haul.
  Logs:   Up to 10 inches in diameter, cut to maximum of four feet length will be accepted.
  Concrete products, dirt & gravel: Will be accepted.
  Stop at the Attendant’s booth before entering the Depository.
  Your cooperation and effort to maintain a clean site is appreciated.

Recyclable materials are collected curbside on alternate Mondays depending on your location. Call the Township Office at 724-378-1460 for additional details and collection schedule. Your participation in the recycling program is mandatory by Township ordinance and Department of Environmental regulations.
