| GUESS WHERE YOU'RE REALLY PUTTING YOUR LAWN FERTILIZER |
| |
Every year the snow melts, the rain falls, and the water that runs off your yard carries fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides into our creeks and streams. Depositing pollutants can harm fish, wildlife and vegetation. Plant more trees and shrubs so you'll have less bare lawn surface that allows storm water runoff. Use eco-friendly lawn fertilizers. Limit use of pesticides & herbicides |

Stormwater Discharges From Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s)
OVERVIEW
Polluted stormwater runoff is commonly transported through Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4s), from which it is often discharged untreated into local waterbodies. To prevent harmful pollutants from being washed or dumped into an MS4, operators must obtain a NPDES permit and develop a stormwater management program.
