In the matter of Seitel Data, Ltd. vs Hopewell Township and the Hopewell Township Board of Commissioners, Judge Keith Quigley of the Commonwealth Court has issued an Order that Hopewell Township (including its elected officials, employees and police officers) is prohibited “from advising residents to remove, destroy, or otherwise prohibit Seitel from placing its geophones in the rights-of-way” and from otherwise arbitrarily and unreasonably interfering by any means whatsoever with Seitel’s seismic operations on or in Hopewell Township’s rights-of-way.”  Hopewell Township has appealed this Order to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.  While that appeal is pending, Hopewell Township will abide by Judge Quigley’s Order.  Residents are advised that Dawson Geophysical is performing the seismic work on behalf of Seitel.  The Order issued by Judge Quigley may be viewed by clicking on the link below.
