The next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Thursday March 26th at 7pm in the Commissioners' meeting room, 1700 Clark Boulevard.

The Hopewell Township Planning & Zoning office oversees and administers all matters related to the following:
 Building Permits
 Sign Permits
 Zoning Permits
 Property Maintenance
 Code Enforcement
 Subdivisions
 Land Development
 Planning
 The Planning & Zoning office is responsible for coordinating the planning, development, permitting and building activities within the community.  It is a goal of the Planning & Zoning office to assist residents, property owners, business owners, builders and developers in understanding and complying with the regulations, procedures and ordinances on these matters as established by the Township.
 Currently the Township has in effect the adopted Township Zoning Ordinance No. 2004-01 and the Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance No. 91-2.
 The Hopewell Township Zoning Ordinance provides for twelve (12) different zoning districts ranging from R-1 Residential-Agriculture to C-1 Highway Commercial to RID Riverfront Industrial District.  Each particular zoning district allows for specific permitted uses, conditional uses or uses by special exception which are appropriate for the district defined.  The zoning ordinance establishes the general requirements  and the supplemental regulations for each particular district and the overall Township.
 The Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance regulates and provides the process on how properties and land tracts may be subdivided and developed in a consistent, practical and comprehensive manner to the benefit of the community.

    The Planning Commission meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00pm, with exception that the November meeting is on the 19th and the December meeting is on the 17th.  THE NEXT MEETING IS THURSDAY FEBRUARY 26th at 7:00PM  Applications to be on the agenda must be received by the Township Manager fifteen (15) days prior to the scheduled meeting.  Plans received after that will be reviewed at the next scheduled monthly meeting.  Call Township Manager 724-378-1460 for application and instructions.
